How to fax without a phone line

How online fax works

You send a document over the internet. JamFax turns it into a fax and delivers it to the other fax number. Incoming faxes work the other way round: they reach your JamFax number and appear as PDFs in your account and in your email. You do not need a fax machine, a phone line or software. JamFax covers faxing within the US and Canada.

What you need

• A device with a web browser and an email address.
• The document as a PDF or TIFF, up to 10 MB each.
• A JamFax plan. Every plan includes your own fax number, with no setup fee and no contract.

Set up in three steps

1. Sign up, pick a plan and choose a number by area code. Or transfer a number you already have, with no transfer fee.
2. Send from the browser, or by email on e-Fax and Corporate Fax (how it works).
3. Receive faxes as PDFs, online and by email.

• Pay as you go: $2.99 a month plus $0.10 a page. Good if you fax a few times a year.

What changes compared with a fax machine

• There is no paper to feed or toner to buy. You send a file instead.
• You do not tie up a phone line, and nobody has to stand at a machine to receive a fax.
