How to fax Hungary

Send a fax to Hungary in five steps

Fax number format for Hungary

  • From a US fax machine you would dial 011 36 1 xxx xxxx: 011 to leave the US, 36 for Hungary, then the number.
  • In JamFax, enter 36 1 xxx xxxx: the country code, then the number. When you copy a number written for callers inside Hungary, leave out the domestic prefix 06.
  • Mobile numbers use codes such as 20, 30 and 70. Only landlines can be faxed.

Hungary uses Central European Time (UTC+1, or UTC+2 from late March to late October). It is usually 6 hours ahead of US Eastern time, so a fax sent at 9 a.m. in New York arrives at 3 p.m. in Budapest. For a few weeks each spring and autumn the gap is 5 hours, because the US and Europe change their clocks on different dates.
