How to fax from Gmail

To fax from Gmail, email your PDF to the destination fax number in digits at fax.jamfax.com, for example 13055550142@fax.jamfax.com. It works on a JamFax e-Fax or Corporate Fax line with email sending turned on, sent from the Gmail address you sign in to JamFax with.

Send a fax from Gmail

  1. Get a JamFax e-Fax or Corporate Fax line. Sending by email works on those two plans.
  2. Sign in to JamFax, open Fax lines, choose Settings on your line and turn on email sending.
  3. In Gmail, choose Compose. Send from the Gmail address you sign in to JamFax with; mail from any other address is ignored.
  4. In the To field, put the destination fax number in digits at fax.jamfax.com. To fax (305) 555-0142, send to 13055550142@fax.jamfax.com.
  5. Attach the document as PDF or TIFF: up to 5 files, 10 MB each. Attach the file itself; a Google Drive link is not an attachment and is not faxed. The email text is not faxed and there is no cover page.
  6. Send the email. JamFax replies to tell you the fax was sent, or why it wasn't.

Faxing a Google Doc

JamFax faxes PDF or TIFF attachments. In Google Docs, choose File, Download, PDF document, then attach that PDF to your email.

Gmail on your phone

It works the same in the Gmail app: the fax address goes in To and the PDF is attached. You can also send from the browser at app.jamfax.com. See how to fax from an iPhone.

Receive faxes in Gmail

Add your Gmail address as a delivery address in your line's settings and every fax you receive arrives as a PDF attachment. Fax-to-Email lines always email your faxes. Full rules: fax by email and help.

e-Fax and Corporate Fax. Fax-to-Email is receive only.

Is the text of my email faxed?

No. Only the PDF or TIFF attachments are faxed, and there is no cover page. Put anything the recipient should read in the document.

Why did I get no reply?

JamFax ignores email that does not come from your sign-in address or that fails your email provider's sender checks (SPF and DKIM). Check the From address, or send from the browser.
